Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) is Lexus's suite of camera-based safety systems — the luxury equivalent of Toyota Safety Sense. When the windshield is replaced, the camera mounted behind it may shift, and calibration ensures every safety feature works correctly.

What Lexus Safety System+ Does
LSS+ uses a forward-facing camera mounted to the windshield bracket. It powers Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Automatic High Beams. LSS+ has evolved through versions: LSS+ (2015–2019), LSS+ 2.0 (2019+), and LSS+ 3.0 (2022+). As Toyota's luxury division, Lexus uses the same camera technology as Toyota Safety Sense.

What Happens When We Replace the Glass
The camera bracket is removed with the old windshield and re-mounted to the new one. Even a fraction of a degree of shift in camera angle throws off the system's reference points. Calibration re-establishes those points using manufacturer-spec targets — our method is static only, the most precise approach available.

Lexus-Specific Camera Sensitivity
Lexus shares its camera technology with Toyota — the LSS+ camera bracket is the same platform as Toyota Safety Sense. This means the same glass quality requirements apply. Using generic or low-quality aftermarket glass on LSS+ models has a higher-than-average risk of calibration failure. We always use Pilkington, AGC (Lexus OEM supplier), or Fuyao (Ohio) — the same brands used on the factory assembly line.
